Sarah has been practicing massage since 2012, when she graduated as Valedictorian of her class from The SOMA Institute of Clinical Massage Therapy in Chicago. Her passion for massage came about from her own experience receiving massage to help her recover from structural issues and injuries, all of which made it difficult for her to either function fully as a mom with young children and as a competitive triathlete. Massage became such a key part of Sarah’s own rehabilitations that she soon knew she wanted to extend this amazing transformative practice to others by becoming a massage therapist herself.
Her modalities are truly unique, and rather than employing one particular modality of massage, Sarah instead fully believes the muscles of the person being worked on are the true guides of “how” she practices on her clients. There are key fundamental physiological laws and elements to HOW our bodies move throughout the day and night, both while we are in movement and in a state of rest. Often times the root cause of a chronic or acute pain (if not from an actual injury) is embedded deep in our muscle memories, and “listening” to the muscles tell their stories is where true change can be affected. So for those who are patient enough with the process, Sarah is a good listener to what a body’s essence is trying to tell, and she can often become an interpreter in the moment, using hands and energies to try and evoke a space for healing to occur.
Sarah is a mom of three kids whom she adores, both as her children and also as good human beings with smart heads on their shoulders and abilities to laugh at life! She is a USAT certified Triathlon Coach with Peaks Coaching Group and has been racing triathlon for close to 15 years herself. Cycling is her true love however, and every year brings new challenges of keeping her body and mind as healthy and grounded as possible so she can continue to find new adventures and challenges on the bike!
